About Dr. Saklayen Hossain

Dr. Md. Saklayen Hossain (Kennedy) is an orthopedic surgeon focused on arthroscopic (keyhole) joint surgery and arthroplasty (joint replacement). He is Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), widely known as Pongu Hospital, in Dhaka.

His qualifications include MBBS, BCS (Health), D-Ortho and MS (Ortho), with further training through the AO Basic Trauma course and a Fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery.

His clinical work covers the knee, shoulder, hip and other joints — ligament and meniscus injuries, sports injuries, fractures and arthritis — from careful assessment and non-surgical care through to arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement when they are the right choice. His stated aim is simple: helping patients return to pain-free, normal movement.

Alongside his academic and hospital work, he sees patients at chambers in Mirpur (Dhaka), Rupganj (Narayanganj) and Pabna, and shares patient education in Bangla on Facebook and YouTube.
